To Be A Movie Star...

Well my Indiana Jones Hat, Henceforth known as a Fedora, arrived today, so far I have been called "Twit", by my dad, "Idiot", by my sister, and "Tube" by my mum, what a fantastic family. I know they don't mean it because they all tried it on the second I left the room and my mum didn't explode when she heard it cost £30.  So I call this a win for me! and I love it! my first win ever! woo!

...To FINALLY Be Able To Drive

I passed my test today! driving test that is. after failing the first time....mainly because i ran the imaginary child over..... woops.  but i passed today. I was nervous because i dont have any money left now at all and i really cant afford any more lessons until i get paid which should happen on thursday, but thats still to be seen to as this will be my first payment and since everything else has been going wrong at work this year i wouldn't be surprised if i wasn't paid.   the only thing I was told about that i didn'y do too well on was my reverse park, which i did very well not an hour before my test!  nerves you know, i was just a bit too far away from the kerb (curb??) other little minor things... 6 other little minor things....but im happy now i can drive on my own, not that i really want to straight away. i can tear up my l plates if the weren't stretchy plastic. and of course now that i look out the window it is getting to be a lovely day where i had to go through my test in the pouring rain not wanting to try to put the rear wiper on incase i turned on the windscreen wash.  oh well.

See Y'all on the morrow.

To enjoy new games...

Well I'm broke.  I think that is an adequate place to start this post.  However one of my all time favourite games, Final Fantasy VII, which coincidentally is actually one of the greatest games ever and actually has the greatest bad guy in any game according to every survey, has just had a new prequel released, it's already had a sequel on PS2, a sequel movie, a prequel mobile phone game, and a prequel short film.  Anyway, this prequel is called Crisis Core and it's for the PSP and explains the origins of FF7, which are explained briefly in the game through various flashbacks, but since the game came out in 1997 and I have yet to complete it i want the full story, good side not I finally got onto disk 3 of 3 last week! however it is a fairly short game I am almost finished now, on the last chapter, but it's really good, I'm glad the basically re-did it because they wouldn't have got it right if they tried to copy FF7. But, yeah... the main character Zack is so cool, i want hair like his :  RIGHT CLICK > VIEW IMAGE TO SEE FULL IMAGES

Incidentally you also find out the origin of the Buster Sword: that huge ass sword on his back there, which first appears in FF7.

...to live the life of luxury

so yeah... I've not been up to much lately, except my amazing fun cycle/camping trip to Lochwinnoch with [info]obsessed_psyco and two other friends, one of which is now her boyfriend.  It was good fun, great fire, I mean freaking huge made by the Boyfriend, he was telling us he's not allowed to make fires in his scout group, and i can see why. He's very ambitious, although it was fairly well controlled, apart from the dead tree he dragged over to it which caught fire.  Oh yeah, also we went to see a movie, Teeth, word of warning...DON'T SEE IT, it's disgusting and sickening, even though it's very easy to get some laughs out of, but if you're a guy you don't want to watch it.  Seriously, it's disgusting.  I'm starting work on Monday full time so I wont be able to go along on the next camping trip which [info]smeckles90 is going along as well, I'm very gutted, especially as they are planning on staying for two days.  Ah well, Que Sera Sera, C'est La Vie and all that.

to the movies!...

I went to see the new Indiana Jones film today, it was really good, if you want to know where they got their ideas for it look here:
I also know the answer to whether Mutt Williams is Indy's son but I'm not going to give that away, what I will say is that there are a few jokes about his age. I think there's something missing, nothing that makes it a bad film, but it does feel as if there's something missing, possibly the lack of Sallah.  Anyway, I'm off to watch the other 3 movies now all in quick succession, i will say that it's better than the Temple of Doom, but i would have to watch it a few more times to be able to put them all into rank, although the Last Crusade is still my favourite and Raiders is better than Temple of Doom so there's a bit of a guide.

To Lie On The Sand...

well I was at the beach, well at Ludston Bay anyway, there was a little bit of sand, mostly grass but there was water! Anyway, I was there with 10 other people, was a good day, barbeque, sandwiches, etc. Starting to feel quite nervous now its only a week to my driving test, got my last driving lesson(hopefully!) tomorrow, i just need to be more assertive and make sure to observe everything, I also need to look over safety check questions as well, well it's getting late so i think I'll go now, BYE!

to be regular...

Well I have decided that now that my first year in uni is over, I'm not working and iv very little else to do that I shall start posting here again, I don't know why I ever stopped. I've been doing a lot since my last post, you know uni, that's going well got all my exemptions, apart from one in January, but that's been and gone and I passed the exam so I'm happy still. My driving is going well, I've actually got the driving test on the 27th May, I should probably be nervous but I'm not.

It was [info]obsessed-psyco that first got me into this (hey  I found the username button!!!!!!)  also if there are any good pics out there for me for my userpic please point me to them cos I only have this one with Rodney and i would really like more.

Also, as a PS I would like to hear about any good  communities, along the lines of stargate (i think i may have been chucked out of the stargate community i have already joined coz i ain't been active in possibly years), ncis, etc.

I'll probably get better at posting these as i go along, but since its been so long i can't put much detail into everything i've done since my last post as that would probably take me even longer than a year and then i would have to just keep adding and adding and adding and adding and adding and adding and adding and adding and adding and adding and adding and adding, well you get the picture anyway.

I guess I'll be off then goodbye to anyone who is reading this, can't imagine there'll be many though.

BYE

saving lives is all in a days work...

woah...havnt updated in ages!! sorry to everyone who reads this, well the one person i know who might read this, and all you others out there who just read it coz they found my name and thought my other posts were awsome, the whole 0 of ya oh yeah. well i went on holiday during the easter break, great fun, down in whitby, near scarborough and york. went with friends that i know coz they are the family of a couple of my dads friends from school (heres a easier explanation, dad goes to school meets friends, they all have families and stay in touch, im friends with their sons and daughters) great, best friends. so yea, hanging around with them every day is great coz i never see them, one family lives in england whilst the other lives in seafield (not the one at edinburgh with the whole sewage thing thankfully, but still closer to edinburgh than me :-(. )
ah well, it was great to see them anyway, went out walking their dogs, both families have a cairn terrier, great, fun, bouncy, happy, if a little bit stupid, little dogs. then one day we went to flamingoland...just to let you in on a little secret..iv never been on a rollercoaster before in my life, been too scared, kinda ruined my experience of florida those 3 years... but because they were there with me i was forced onto all the rollercoasters and other scary rides that the had, upside downers corkscrews and the big tower thing that fires you up then lets you fall straight back down, leaving your guts still at the top. but im thankful coz now i can go on them whenever i see one, im still scared but at least i know im not going to puke when im on it. little bit of background info on whitby now, its one of the 2 or 3 places in the world where you can find genuine jet, the fossilised remains of monkey puzzle trees from the jurrasic period. its a black (jet black..there now you know where that comes from) practically weightless stone/tree thing that when polished can be used as a mirror and will never lose its shine, looks really good in jewellery but costs an absolute bomb. so i picked up a chunk off the beach that could have been made into loadsa wee earings and neclaces that when sold all finished could have got a good £200. the lump as it is was evaluated at £5, just goes to show what good craftsmanship will get you.

i also went into scarborough one day, went a walk along the beach and everyhting, bringing back memories of my childhood. found something very cool too.....quicksand!! there was a small freshwater spring under the sand that was pouring up through the sand creating a wee pool up near the top of the beach, you could see the water coming up, and when we dropped a stone into the flow of water it disappeared instantaniously, a stone near the edge slowly sank down, twas amazing

anyway now to get to the whole meaning of the title of this post....i gave blood. im very please with myself, not nearly as bad as i thought it would have been but still painful nonetheless. but my donation has gone on to save or better up to 3 lives, and i am immensly proud of that fact. cant wait to get to my dads level. hes given about 54 times now so has saved or bettered the lives of up to 162 people, how about that my dads a life saver.

near death experience....

well, not so much a near death experience as a if-it-was-faster-and-on-the-motorway-with-two-new-drivers-THEN-it-would-be-a-near-death-experience experience. yea, so an old guy pulled out without looking properly and so got rammed in the side, he was quite shaken up, but was otherwise fine, but being stuck behind it in a bus was no fun whatsoever. after we eventually got away, we found that the traffic had been building so that it was a traffic jam from centre of renfrew all the way back to the red smiddy roundabout....whats up with that??? oh yea i watched the fifth element last night on sci fi...didnt realise they cencored movies even after 9 oclock, i was not happy, i love that movie, and the "adult themes" just make it better, who doesnt want to see leeloo being brought back to life like that??? anyway, im updating my cv so im handing it into loadsa places to hopefully find a better job......damn primark to hell and back, then straight back to hell again so it can be in pain, wishing for its old life back so it can make amends, then think its had its wish granted only to have it sent back into pain for the rest of eternity!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

in memory...

well, its been an eventful week for me. friday night. 11pm (roughly, it could have been 11:00:01pm you never know) my dad said to me "the gerbils are unusually quiet"
Saturday morning 10am (dont make me go down that road again, i dont even know why i did it last time) my dad said to me "iv got some bad news, the gerbils have died" so i go in to have a look at them and they are lieing next to each other like they are asleep, but completely unmoving...i was devastaded. then i went to work. then the next day we go out and buy a flipping piano! t'is a nice one too. cheap as well. so im gonna have to post some pics of my gerbils in memory of them.

here we have flash, with digger behind him

First Post

wow, what a way to start off my journal. Today i got a toastie machine for my common room, toasties made in 3 minutes everyday! only downside is nothing sanitary to cut the cheese on, nothing to clean the machine, no proper knives to cut with. However, im sure i can live with food poisoning, or an improperly functioning stomach...
